Whether its in petrol or public transport fares. How much would you say it costs you a month just getting to and from work.

The job I start in 2 weeks is from a depot which is 2minutes on foot from my house. So the cost is Zero.

Whats yours?

Used to cost about £250 a month in fuel.

40 miles each way, 5 days a week.

Now it costs me nothing, as I moved closer to work and am now within walking distance.

£500 average i expect in maintenance and petrol (Old MR2 turbo, fairly well endowned modification wise). I should really get a decent car for going to work in.

if i know im going to be working in glasgow the whole month, it is £140 for a monthly train ticket, then probs about £20 for petrol. Not THAT bad but it is an apprentice wage

About a gallon and a half of petrol each day which works out roughly about £8. I work a 6 day cycle so 6 x £8 = £48. 3 cycles in a month which works out about £150 a month. That's quite cheap now that I think of it considering my commute is about a 40 mile round trip in a 3.0l sports car:p

£80 a year. That's what it costs me for a pair of posh french leather slipper/flip-flop things that I wear between the bedroom, the bathroom and my office :D

Used to cost me £64 for a monthly travel ticket that covered all buses, metro, train and ferry in Tyne and Wear. Although technically it didn't cost me since work paid for it.

Also, do any of you guys paying a lot get any extra on your wages to cover it?

Some of these amounts people are paying are quite a hefty percentage of the actually salary.

We used to get a "home to duty" allowance but that was sold off for a bung a few years ago.
