How much does your CPU idle temp drop by when you remove the side panel?

I've just had a blast on TF2 and it seems my pc accumulated a lot of hear. My CPU was hitting 51 idle (spec in sig) granted all fans were on lowest speed but that's damn toasty! I removed the side panel and bumped up fan speeds and I'm now sitting at 36 idle! :eek:

That's a whopping 15 degrees! :\

So go on, lets what yours produces!

Your temps dropping by that much when your side panel is off suggests that the airflow in your case isn't that good. Have you tidied up you cables?

Naud

Your CPU May go down, but how about cooling on the NB and SB and all the other passive components? Mine is about the same.

Mine stay around the same after getting my new case but this could be because I have 2 120mm Intake fans, 1 120mm exhaust, 1 120mm cpu fan and 2 80mm fans blowing across the mobo... None fan controlled so full boar all the time

I like noise :rolleyes::D

i thought id try mine, took side panel off and no change in temps at all? went to replace the panel and realised i didnt have the back panel on. with both on my temps dropped a few degrees!! nice
