ive actually upgraded twice this year.. march i had a x2 939 system and october got my core2 system.. and lots of stuff inbetween.

im only 18 and a student so most of my money goes into my pc.. but.. why not. i spend most my time at my pc.. so why not spend my money on it..

just like people spending lots on their hobbies..

Nothing. We got a wireless router when my boyfriend moved in, but I don't think that really counts as part of my pc. Everything else is over a year old.

i'm not saying it's wrong to spend money on your PC, i'm saying it's wrong to assume everyone here spends that much. Your poll should account for those of us who don't spend that much on our PC's. There are certainly plenty here who don't spend £500 per year! if my pc can surf the net + play music and video then i'm happy.

Placing it in GD allows more broad participation, rather than just hardcore enthusiasts, putting things in perspective. Besides there isn't a suitable forum for it outside GD - General hardware is just full of 'spec me' threads and only serves to waste my time procrastinating over these friggin essays. Quit it and select 0-500

£50 on some RAM for gf's lappy
£11 or so on a cheapo case for a secondary rig
£35 on 512meg RAM for the above
£45(?) on a 250gig HD for the above
£35(?) on a Logitech G5 mouse - might have been end of last year though.
