Second hand i would expect £400 Max

2nd had computers are like 2nd hand cars. Poor resale values compared to new. a lot of people looking for a second hand computer are buying a PC for their kids etc, and are only really interested in price. If they want new, they will pay the price premium and get full manufacturers warrenties, and knowledge that its not been overclocked or tampered with.

On the other hand, excending the car analogy, If you spend the time to break the car, you will get a lot more money for the parts, as there are plenty of people looking for parts for repairing a machine etc. Also if you have an exceptionally good part (say a Q6600 that does 4Ghz on air etc), then you'll probably get a good price from that from an enthusiast who has a lesser chip.

Unfortunatly £350-400 is realistic especailly as your not including a screen, and probably no mouse/keyboard either.
