Dont worry this isnt a have I been scammed thread, just trying to compare.

Just had 2 new tyres (Michelin Road 5) and a MOT done.

The tyres are 160/60/17 and 120/60/17.

MOT was £30.

Total bill was £382!!!!!!

Seems they charged:

Front Tyre £103.88
Rear £131.62
Fitting/balancing £58.34

+20% VAT

Seems a lot?

I have used this garage for years and years and they have always been reasonable on price, so didnt quesation it, I am pretty confident they didnt mess my bill up, is this the new post covid prices kicking in or something?

You’ve been had. £70 for fitting is ridiculous unless you have a Bimota Tesi or something.

That pair of tyres can be easily obtained for under £250 too.

If you just gave them the bike then that's about right. If you want them fitted for a reasonable price then loose wheels is the way to go.

Price for the tires is not mental for a normal garage and not buying online.

Hmm actually just checked and old invoice, same garage 2018 wasnt much less + 4 years inflation/cost of living.

They are generally pretty good, but I think they are expensive for getting tyres fitted, next time I will find an alternative.

Thanks both.

Last year for mobile fitting (I had my own tyres) was quoted £50 if they removed the wheels or £20 if I removed the wheels. And paid £28 for MOT last Saturday. Tyre prices seem okay tbh.
