currently at 3GHz 375 * 8 @ 1.3000 V and ram set to 1/1

is it possible to get mayb 3.2/3.3 on stock volts if i keep multiplier set to x8?

if i wanted to achieve a stable 3.4,what is the best voltage for this?

also,my temps have dropped by 11 degrees since i set my cpu to run at 3GHz

Every chip is different, so there's no standard voltage for 3.4ghz.

You'll likely have to go to atleast 1.4v in BIOS for 3.4ghz, possibly more.

Not sure why you are affraid of raising the voltage a bit.

Increase the FSB to 400MHz (multiplier of 8 = 3200MHz) and you'll be flying. I have mine set at 1.4v but it never uses all that. You should be able to go onto 425MHz (3.4GHz) from there. Watch those temps though. Make sure you do a stress/temp test each time you do a new OC.

edit - confirms cobs post

ok set to 400 x 8 and got 3200,loaded into vista first time, idle temps are 54/57,going to run COD4 now to see if its stable .

is everything looking ok?

Idle temps are crazily high. Is that the stock cooler?

And is that set to 1.4v in BIOS?

stuck with the ac thermal pad,i have a some Arctic silver 5 paste here, not used yet,is it worth applying it now?

do you have the AC CPU fan blowing in the direction of a rear outlet fan?

What other cooling do you have... Seems really high for idle.

It's odd becuase if your starting idle temp is in the 50s, i'd expect the load to be a lot higher than in the 60s. I'm wondering if the CPU fan is spinning correctly when idle.

the cpu fan is facing the front of my case with the air being blown out the back were another fan is sucking out also,i have 4 x 120mm fans on the side of my case,1 x 120mm at front,1 x 120mm at back,1 x 120mm as the top,i have a 3-pin fan blowing directly onto my cpu,i suppose i could get my really big fan and blow it straight into my case..
