How much of a real worl issue is OLED burn in?

Yeah I would probably be worried more
About text fringing than burn in
No idea about other manufacturers
But dell it's only 1 replacement under warranty for burn in
Any replacement will not have burn in cover
Hide taskbar,hide desktop icons,
And some other stuff already mentioned should certainly help
And for free animated/video wallpaper
Lively wallpaper works great

Can't say I can see any text fringing on mine, but I don't know what I'm looking for...

Dell AW3225QF as in my signature.
Thanks
Been looking at that one
Given its 300 quid cheaper than 321URX
And gigabyte FO32U2P
If I was sure I would be OK with the curved screen
I would probably already have bought that one
As that's a significant price difference
For the same samsung panel in them all
Though yes may have some less features
No high usb c power delivery etc
But none are exactly deal breakers for me

I have had an AW3423DWF since the day they came out, and so far no issues.

My PC is on for 16 hours a day.

Take some sensible measures - hide the taskbar, have frequently changing wallpaper (non of which has bright lights), don't use HDR for normal stuff, screen saver after ten mins.

At fist I was really worried about burn-in, but now I don't care. Once you see the colours, the contrast and smoothness of an OLED it will be very, very difficult to go back to LCD.

given i can get dwf for £674
compared to the price of the new 240hz models
of approx 990 for dell up to 1300/1400 for msi, gigabyte, asus
even the dwf is very tempting
too many choices lol
but yeah the others following dell with 3 year burn
in warranty is definitely good for the customer

looking on big screen now
still looks decent text to my eyes
maybe not as sharp as the mini led i am looking on
but of course what resolution your photo is
and any sort of compression in the image
would have some bearing on it too

I am really surprised that Microsoft haven't released something to correct the problem, but they haven't.
If you are using one monitor (unfortunately I use more than one) then I would recommend MacType. It sorts out the fringing. Somewhere on this forum there are the settings for the DWF. Having said that, it doesn't work for everything and it applies the same profile to all monitors.

Microsoft are bad enough
When it comes to decent hdr implementation
Not surprised they haven't done something
Newer oleds are already progressing past the issue
Guess they don't want to fix
"Yesterday's technology "

Talking of which
The dell dwf has taken another price drop today
Now £626 (with 10% student discount)
So basically half the price
Of the new 240hz oleds other than their own
Which is £989
Getting seriously tempting at that price

I suspect it depends on brightness as well. For me, I'm happy with most monitors being at very low brightness.

Never noticed any issues after 2 years daily desktop use on an LG C2.

I've said this before on here, I think the key to staving off burn-in is low nits on SDR content, desktop etc, same as I've done on my OLED TV, I calibrate SDR content at 100 nits which is the industry standard, and on my monitor I probably have it closer to 70 nits, people have SDR content way to bright and don't understand the damage it can do, my landlord has killed two OLED TV's due to this thinking that SDR looks to dim compared to HDR and trying to raise SDR profile to match!

When they come down to 400-500 pounds I might go for one, as I dont normaly keep a monitor for more than 3 years before getting the itch. Until then Ill stick to IPS, its not as though HDR isnt a complete cluster on PC gaming anyway

Getting closer to that now for some of them
Dell dwf I could have gotten for £600
Went with an msi in the end up Though for £750
That's 34 inch 27 inch there may be some already in 400--500 range
I didn't really look at 27 prices
As replaced 2 x 27 with a 34
