Without wanting to sound pedantic, surely Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland should be seperate countries?
No, your country is called United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Whether it is constituted of Federal States, of Nations, or something else is irrelevant.
And at the same time, surely something like Corfu is a seperate entity as well and not part of Greece?

Rubbish. Kerkyra is just another municipality in Greece, just like Giannena, Athens, Nafplion or Kavala. Greece is actually a centralised state, bit like France. There are no "separate" half-included entities, apart from Mount Athos.

I'm only saying because my world chart looks pitiful otherwise :)

Travel more :p

Another interesting question - for those of you who've been to the US, how many of the 50 states have you visited?

I've been to 25 of them myself - twenty-four on a recent trip, and Florida a while back.

It was interesting (and possibly worrying) to see the number of Americans who thought that there were 52 states.

Well, to be fair, Puerto Rico is almost a state, it has a special association status and there has already been a parliamentary notion in the early 90s to join the US as the 51st state, but it was rejected.

I wonder who they think the 52nd is though  Britain? ;)
