How much power does your system draw

You use speedfan Drang? If ya turn your fans off at idle you might be able to knock a few watts off that.

nop, I use 2 fan controllers, all my fans are connected to them and the pumps are connected to separate pump controlers, I only have the pumps rpm sensors connected to the MB.
I replaced my fans from SP120HP to SP120QE, before they were 3W each, now they are 1.1W, so it is 20W less on fans :D as I used to run the HPs@1600rpm and now I'm running the QEs@1000rpm
Probably my CPU is using a little bit less power as before I had a [email protected] and now I have a [email protected]

If I open the Corsair link, as I have an AX1200i psu, it draws 50W more just to monitor the system, but the readings from it are on par with my energy monitor connected to the pc.

Haven't done a power test in years but back when I had an i7-920, my desktop drew around 150 W when idle and with the monitor off! Dread to think how much it uses whilst gaming.

Always see threads asking "what power supply for ......" so being interested myself thought id buy a power usage meter myself today and have a test! maybe others can add their results and system info?

my system is as follows

3770k @ 4.7ghz
980ti SLI @ 1512/2002
2 SSD and one mech drive
d5 pump and 6 x 120mm fans
seasonic x series gold 1050watt psu

276 watt draw at idle
812 watt draw gaming [highest ive seen so far dirt 3 @ 4k]

glad I bought that 1kwatt psu before upgrading!

That is a very high idle, does that include the montior too?

My current system in my Sig idles at 80W and fully loaded with CPU/OC OC is about 350 including the monitor.

Some Ideas: In windows if you run more than 120Hz it can draw extra power. Is your Intel Speed Step etc turned off? Is your windows set to throttle back to 5% and 100% or 100% load all the time? Do you have any apps running in the back ground all the time?

Havent checked the setup in sig when gaming yet, (not played any in ages). But idle power draw is 160w. Will check load later.

I have never checked how much power my PC draws its overclocked its never bothered me.

But l always set the Bios so the CPU Multi+Vc always reduce to thier lowest idle setting when not working..

So at desktop while writing this power draw is 150ish watts at the wall.

I ran 4K firestrike and the highest draw I saw was 799 watts (at the wall)

Im starting to get the impression that x99 just draws loads more power idle than z97/z107. Under load theres not much in it but idle the 4 core systems seem to be averaging around 80 and the x99s well up in the 100s.

Ah well i guess you are enthusiasts, that means you have loads of money :)
