Hi,

I have to RMA my new HX520 PSU as it won't boot my system. How would I know how much power the following items need?

e2180
GA-P35C-DS3R
OcUK X1950 512MB
Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) 6400
500GB Seagate Sata II drive
80GB Seagate IDE
Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B CPU Cooler
IDE CD-RW/DVD

I was thinking of using an old Antec Smartpower 350W PSU but I don't want to plug everything into it if it's going to cause it damage.

Thanks

a quad running a gtx consumes a round 330Watts but it depends on how good you psu is especially the +12 line.

We'll i've tried it and it powers the fans on the CPU cooler and X1950 and the hard drives spin but that's it. There's nothing displayed on the monitor.

I really hope nothing else is dead.

yeah, I had everything pluged in so I've also tried it the system striped down to just the following

e2180
GA-P35C-DS3R
OcUK X1950 512MB
Ballistix 1GB 6400
500GB Seagate Sata II drive
Scythe Ninja Plus Rev.B CPU Cooler

I don't think the motherboard beeped but I need to check the case speaker tonight. Was going to try booting without any RAM, which should make it beep.

Is there a troubleshooting guide anywhere so that I don't forget anything? The link in the sticky doesn't work
