a lot of folks generally do not want people to know their earnings though tbh I don't see it as a big deal , among the regular members of this forum a lot could be worked out anyway , we know what cars each other drives where we go on hol etc so you can get a good idea

Yea I hear you.

Ive got no car, but a £350 bike to get me about :p, Live at home, paying no rent atm and £0 income for my self. Unemployed atm, but waiting for my Appreticeship to start very soon :) The money I saved when I was worked is getting drained from my bank account everyday, oh well, off to the Pub I go in a min. Meeting my GF later and we should have a good night on the beer :D

Disposeable income, whats that then? :p
I take home a decent wage but by the time all my deductions are taken, I'm about a grand short each month :(

Thats the thing - there are always exceptions to the rule.

My car cost me £400 and I rarely take a holiday but I enjoy a very comfortable existance and want for nothing.

Then you'll have people who have a brand-new, expensive car, two holidays a year, debt up to their eyeballs and who have to seriously budget if they want to buy anything.

What car you drive is perhaps the most inaccurate indication of your income. :)
Some people are loaded but have no interest in cars and hence drive a cheap old rotter.

Others earn very little but must have a new BMW or something so get finance loans etc and after they are paid every month dont have 2 pennies to rub together.

Then there are company cars muddying the issue further.
