Hi,

I'm wondering how much sleep do you all get in?

I always used to get a good nights sleep (7hrs all in one hit). But recently, if i have anything on my mind.. It can REALLY affect my sleep. I'm 42 now... Only became a problem a yr or two ago. But seems to be worse with age... My missus and kids, well they all sleep like logs, 8hrs all in one hit....

Like last night, i only got 4 hrs in.. On Sat i only got 3 hrs in. Normally though, I get 7 hrs in..

But always seem to wake up on 6hrs, then spend 30mins trying to get back to sleep to get that last 1 hr in.

This isn't a medical thread, just curious to see how many hrs other peeps get in.

About 6 hours usually (12am to 6am)

I'd like more (7.5 hrs is about right), but just can't fit it in except on rare occasions.

6-7 hours on average, I feel ok if I had 4-5 hours good sleep. I try not to force myself back to sleep if I say have 6 hours then have 2 to "spare" - I would feel worse if I went back into a deep sleep only to be woken 20mins later by the alarm.

Take ages to fall asleep, eventually do, wake up about 4am or something, spend ages trying to sleep again, bit more, alarm. :(

I never sleep all the way through and I'm sort of one of DEM YOOFS renound for sleeping loads. (early 20s)

around 6 hours...
Normally hit my pillow a bit after 1am, and my alarm is set for 7.20am ready for the school run...

If those 6hrs are broken because of something like my kids being upset then I tend to grab an extra hour while watch TV lol

At the moment not as much as I'd like as there's a lot going on.

However, if I'm not suffering from my periodic bouts of insomnia (I get it a few times a year, usually when there's a lot on my mind, or if I've eaten too much, or something's a bit off in my routine etc...), I usually sleep REALLY well. Tend to fall asleep in minutes and wake up almost bouncing out of bed (I'm a morning person).

In bed at the latest by 1030pm. Up at the latest around 630am. Always have lots of energy generally.

I cope with lack of sleep pretty well other than bitching about it I just get on with it. 5hrs seems to be just about the minimum I need - any less than for prolonged periods of time and I start to struggle. I have a couple of times not gone to bed as I've had too much to do - but that is rare, and whilst I can cope with it, I feel almost jetlagged.

I struggle with lie-ins though, I will just get up, I find it a waste to stay in bed, no matter how late I've gone to bed.

I tend to sleep from about 12.30 to 6.45. It's less sleep than I'd like, but I've only ever been able to sleep for 8 hours and then just wake up straight away. Sleeping for longer leaves me groggy...I hate not being able to lie in though. I don't stay over as many friends houses as I used to when I was a child, but still, everyone always got up about 3 hours after me, which is/was a pain in the arse!

Had bad insomnia as a kid, and literally would get angrier at myself for not sleeping.

Nowadays, I tend to be in bed for midnight and wake up throughout the night. Approximately 2am, then 5am, then 6am then up for work.

Weekends (on the odd occasion i'm not working) if I get more sleep, I feel worse for it.

About 7 hours seems to be a sweet spot for me now, go to bed around midnight and wake at 7. Any more than that and I always feel crap.
