How Much Sleep Do You Need ?

usually hope for at least 7 hours. Although last night i didn't get in till 3, and then up again at 7 for work so it was a bit of a killer :(

That is an insane amount of hours! i would kill for that and this is my last saturday off until christmas as well  .

It's called being a student :D

Nothing generally happens on weekends, so its not unusual to be getting up at 1 pm. :p

4-7 hours is optimim apperntly, and people who have over 8 hours sleep a day live shorter lives then people who have 5/6 hours a day according to some medical study i read ages ago

I can function on around 5 or so hours sleep, but anything less than about 10 hours and I will feel fatigued all day.

has to be 8 hours. If its not 8 no1 dares speak to me lol. I get real bad if I don't have minimum of 8.

do you have a girlfriend, maybe we could do a swap or something? :o

Typically, about four to five hours. Every once in a while (maybe every other month, or so) I luxuriate in a full night's sleep. But my body tells me when I need it. If I try to sleep for eight hours every night, I end up with a headache. :(

4 - 7 hours sounds like rubbish to me, it all depends on how much physical work you do as to how much rest you need. Try going to the gym and doing a physical job, I can garantee you'll need at least 8 hours sleep. Sitting on a computer all day then fair enough, but if you do real work then to have 4 - 7 will catch up on you very quickly!

midnight-1am ish until 730ish everyday without fail really..

hardly ever have a lie in, even at weekends..

so about 7h a day on average

Way too little. Since I was 13 I've been sleeping at 1-2AM and waking up at 7. But I make up for it on the weekends. :p

I didn't today though. :( Came in at 2AM and woke up at 9AM cause I have coursework.

Usually I get up at about 11-12 on weekends though.

Most nights I go to bed around 1, but don't get to sleep till gone 2, and get up at 6.45

I find it's the getting up that is the killer for me, I always want to roll over and go back to sleep unless I've had 10+ hours. Once I've been up and moving for a few minutes I stop feeling tired. This is always the case for me no matter if I get 2 hours or 10, once I've been up for a bit I don't feel tired.

Takes me until about 45 minutes to stop being tired... funny cause that's about the time I start cycling in the freezing cold to school. :p

I wash my face with cold water, which tends to do the job for me :D

When I wake up in the morning I feel like I could lie in bed forever, but on the other hand at late night I'm always averse to actually going to bed, even around 1 am as I feel there're things I have to do.

SO true :p

When i need to get up i cant, and when i dont, im up early :o  :p

If I can get to sleep properly, i'll sleep like a rock :D . I usually have to be pretty tired to fall asleep properly though. At the moment i'm generally going to bed at 1AM, and waking between 9-10AM. When I was at college, I would normally go to be 11PM and wake at 7:30AM; unless I knew I had a later start :) . I do get grumpy if I don't have enough sleep, but either of those is ok for me (about 8 I guess)

I used to sleep about 6 hours. Since I've cut out drink, started eating properly and gone to the gym every day, that's dropped to 4-5. Not sure why, but now I can go to sleep at 3 AM and be up and working at half 7.
