How much Storage is in your HTPC?

Is it really worth ripping Blu-Ray / HD-DVD onto HDD?

If the typical size of ripping Blu Ray onto HDD is around 30-50gb then you are paying £4.50 - 6.25 extra + time spent ripping the movie, which I presume it would take minimum of 3 hours + electricity.

1gbit ethernet is the winner - my htpc only has a single 250mb drive but he has access to a 7tb server ...plus another smaller server of 2tb.

I have 1TB as I have just finished tweaking mine.

Just ordered another 2 x WD 1TB Greens.

Just out of interest.

How are you all backing this data up?

I'm not the cost just outways the benefits. + it's all on DVDs so would just need to rip again.

Thats what I'm thinking.

I have over 1000 DVD's

Thats a lot of storage!!!!:D

Its great though having DVD's on tap without the need to get up and manually play one.

Currently using Media Browser plugin with VCE and its working great.

Looking abit like this

Just come home to another 2 x 1TB Greens so total now is 3TB

I have to say these drives are awsome drives. Very Quiet and extremely cool running.

In fact they hardly heat up at all.

My Rack holds 9 drives so plenty room left for more!!!!!!!! :D
