Thinking about taking my cuz up to the airport with 3 of her mates in april.

Bideford to Bristol - roughly 100miles each way.

i would be driving them up in my Pug306 1.6xs.

so my question is how much should i charge them for a 2 way trip (there and back - there and back) total of 400miles

there best quote was £45 each - £180 total

at a steady 70mph, you should be doing just over 40mpg in a 1.6 306. with petrol at 87.9p, thats pretty much exactly 10p a mile in fuel.

So it'll cost £40 in fuel.

I'd make it £60 (£20 each) because of the time its going to take you and the fact that you've added 400 miles onto the mileage of your car. You could make it £25 each at the most i reckon (£75 total) But this is your cousin, so no need to rinse her and her mates.

£5 per 35 miles= about £50 or so. Try £15 each or maybe £20 10 there 10 back, but dont do it to make moey do it because you want too.

quid a mile is fine in my eyes

im buggered if im shoving 400 miles on my car for less, plus its likely to cost half that in petrol anyway......or they could promise you sexual favours and an awesome orgy at the end, in which case I would do it for free

If you take this option make sure the cousin is excluded from proceedings.

fixed

All you can ask for is true expenses really otherwise you are carrying passengers for hire and reward and thus not insured.

As you can tell I'm bored :)

Personally I'd charge them however much it costs in fuel and and some extra on for your time.

could i legally ask for sexual favours?

just keen to expand my exposure to the female race, I could open up a car share programme and offer it to skint college girls

hmmm www.miles4smiles.com or something similar

*goes off to investigate and get arrested in 51 states*

Aren't you technically not allowed to charge passengers for a journey from your insurance companies point of view? They'll never know but it's something to think about.

Get them to put the petrol in the car and take you out to lunch sometime.

If it was me I would just ask for the petrol. Dont see the point in making profit out of family.

forget it all together, save the mileage on the car and a possible breakdown (you never know what could happen!)

tell them to get the train to the airport.

or! tell them to hire a car if they can drive so they can drop off at the airport, hertz car hire or others
