Hey all.
My current iron was £9.99 and is quite poor. No matter how hard I try my work shirts look average at best.
I am by no means any good at ironing, but how much is a good ballpark figure to spend on one that isn't crap? Looking online they range from £4-£200.

The same goes for my £8 ironing board too :p.

Ive got a kenwood steam generator that cost about £140 6 years ago. its still going fine and its used every day. I couldnt go back to a normal iron now.

Steam generator irons are really for ironing linen or for delicate items that are better ironed with just steam alone. That said they are great and very quick.

However a normal steam iron is all you really need for shirts, the rest is technique.

Also, quality shirts wash and iron better

If you dont use it very often then a decent quality low cost iron will do you fine.

Currently have a Tefal iron with a ceramic soul plate and high pressure steam output, cost about £30 from argos (was half price).

I pay someone to do my ironing.

Last time I attempted it I had a nervous breakdown

me ironing said:
