Hello peeps, 1st post so be kind:D
I have recently overclocked my E7400 from its stock speed of 2.8GHZ to 4.02 GHZ by sending though 1.3625 volts through.
On the Intel website, it suggests this is ths maximum.
Whilst flicking back through some old copies of Custom PC last night, I noticed they had overclocked an E7300 to 4.2 GHZ by sending through 1.41 volts.
Is this a safe amount to use and can I attempt reaching 4.2 GHZ on my E7400 by going past what Intel suggest is the max?

Many thanks for any assistance.

I really would be happy with your current o/c and enjoy it. It not unheard of to run 1.4vcore through them 24/7 mind you will far more info on them over at the E7** thread over at XS forums.

P.S reaad the sig rules before you get a slap on the wrist :p

Thanks, I will head over there.
I shall check the sig rules now and amend accordingly.
Many thanks

Its generally thought that no more then 1.4v for 24/7 use on air cooling, 1.45v under water.

But realisticly its all down to temps, iv pumped 1.55v through my E8400 before and had no issues, ok was only for benching sessions, and was under water lol.

But yeh try and keep it around 1.4v underload, read from cpu-z not bios.

Oh and very nice overclock, and welcome to the forums allso
