A non runner 10 year old Fiat is virtually worthless. Whack it on ebay with no reserve and be grateful for whatever you get - even if its a tenner it saves you the hassle of scrapping it.
why not repair it yourself? the head gasket for my rover only costs about £50 wouldnt have thought your s will be much more, about as much as youll get for the car

I take it your rover has a K-series engine which are prone for head gasket failure, I recently sold my T reg 214si with 25,000 on the clock and just sold my s reg 214si with 41,000 on the clock. The latter one's head gasket failed at just 40,000. Had the head skimmed, new gasket, new followers, full service and 2 oil changes to flush the muck out, only took me a day with the help of a mate. However I did a head gasket repair on somebody else's rover, same series as mine except twin cam whereas mine was single cam and after stripping the head down I noticed there was a hole in one of the pistons. I don't know if this is a common fault or whether punto's are prone to it either. I buy cars with hgf's if they're cheap with the thought of repairing them myself then selling them on and making a tidy little profit but I know I'm always taking a risk and could lose my investment so I never spend a lot on hgf's. I think other people would think the same, you would be best off repairing the head gasket and then selling it as you will probably get get a lot more for it.
