how not to be a wedding photographer.

LOL..

I imagine she's one of the "I've bought a DSLR, which is why the Pro's take such great photo's, so I'm all set for doing weddings now"..

On the one hand, yes, she's a terrible photographer. On the other hand the couple should have realised that before they paid her. If she's used other people in her portfolio then yes, by all means sue her, but if you're just mad that you skimped on the photographer and got rubbish back then really it's your own fault.

If the tog wasn't a fraud and used someone else's folio, then likely the bride and groom thought they were being clever 'saving' money. I don't have any sympathy. I also assume they posted the 5 worst pictures that were delivered.

god knows if the tog was the cheapest but damn this is nasty stuff.

says it all to be honest.

i couldn't think of a better location, the heritage you can capture!!! My friend chris has just helped an acquaintance out with his wedding day woes.
The photographer was shooting on full auto all day, it was a bright sunny day and the shots are all in jpeg @ iso 1600, all the shots were blown out and at night the noise was unrecoverable. Nearly all shots she focused on the wrong subjects :/

I really feel for the couple.

When i get married im gonna call on mrk ;)

Yeah location is good! All she needed was a fast lens and a decent flash. The problem with those shots is composition before you even consider technical faults. If you're taking mrk I'm booking Ray :p

This reminds me of a FB group offering low cost wedding supplies, including photographers. One charges £150 for a full wedding and her photos look like a kid has taken them by swinging the camera around their head. Really poor work but the people who use her love them. Not in focus, badly framed and she uses onboard flash on her Canon 350D DSLR.

You can imagine the classy wedding she attends!

I was at a wedding once where the "photographer" was using onboard flash and was covering it up with his finger because they weren't allowed flash whilst they were signing...

EDIT: Same registry office as the one in the article.

That's terrible!

That's the problem with dslrs becoming so affordable to the general public now. And it annoys me when taking decent photos, and then people comment saying how good the camera is...

Apparently she was recommended to the bride and groom ( I presume B&G wanted to pay as little as possible), so B&G asked said photographer to shoot their wedding. Also apparently she was/is a photography student and stated she had never shot a wedding, but wanted to build a portfolio.

If the above is accurate, then the bride and groom are the ones to blame, and have learnt a hard lesson.

No way should the student be sued, I actually feel a little sorry for her.

if thats all true the bride and groom should be punched in the face for being tight fisted sods.

if i'm unlucky enough to get a bloke (cos quite frankly most men suck), and i got married, i ain't paying for a photographer, but if guests wanna take pics, thats fine by me, but no official photographer, why pay some1 when ppl can just take their own and upload em onto fb and i'm very self-consious, wunt want a professional

Whut?
