**********, how not to oil a chain!

Classic one that one, unfortunately.

People are just idiots, including a mate of mine who did that. Didn't loose the tips of his fingers or anything, however, he soon stopped when I showed him a similar website lol.

I know some body who did that & lost more than the tips of his fingers, to be precise he lost 2 & a half fingers, i'm pleased to say i wasn't there at the time as apparently, there was quite the arterial spurt when he wrenched his hand out of the chain.

My god...

Funnily enough, I actually whack the rear sprocket with the back of my hand sometimes when cleaning the chain, and that's with it not moving! Them sprockets are still bloody sharp!

Keep fingers away from anything motorised, toothed etc... some people really don't get this... learn the hard way!!

My mate lost the end of his little finger doing the same.

Such a STUPID idea if I am honest, no sympathy. 1) its dangerous 2) its stupidly dangerous 3) don't rush important jobs.

Wow this is the second time I've seen this.

Guy who did the same thing - http://www.********.com/view?i=4f6_1253973745

Second guy seems to think "i didn't know any better" is an acceptable justification!

I used pastry as brake pads because I didn't know any better.

I had a friend who done this many years ago he was oiling his chain on his cm125 while he was sitting down on the ground and the bike running in gear.

When he went to stand he slipped and fell back and his thumb got caught in the rear sprocket and chain, when the wheel turned his thumb hit the shock and caused his thumb to pull from the sprocket and chain and took the tip of his thumb off.

I gets better :) he goes to the hospital and the doctor or nurse says you have also dislocated your thumb so we need to put it back in so they do the look away at the celling thing and do the business he later had the thumb ex rayed and they found out it was actually broken lol.

It was over 2 years before he touch the top of his thumb with out pain.

Which type? Filo wouldn't work but a nice dense short crust just might.

Thread needs a warning, didn't expect that first thing in the morning :p

Anyways, how did that happen? The chain moved? I don't know much about motorcycles, but my fingers wouldn't go anywhere near the chain, that is what tools are for :)
