How not to strike fear into the hearts of Americans for votes

This is a genuine election campaign television advertisement by Rudy Giuliani. Now you tell me, how can this possibly be a sensible advert to run? It's scaremongering at its worst. BE AFRAID. VOTE FOR ME. Now excuse me while I exploit 9/11 some more.

It is not difficult to see why Rudy has been getting so little votes, and blunt moves like this do not exactly do him any favours. He is trying to prey on the fears of the American people, which is a ridiculous and frankly pathetic way to try and get votes.

He didnt get many votes because he never campaigned in Iowa he is apparantly targetting the bigger primaries such as Florida.

Still very poor way to run though.

Americans are always doing that, the media over there is terrible. Wave of killer bees will almost certainly strike terror in texas, video games kill up to 1 million people a year, snakes in your back yard - now a reality!

DO YOU LET YOUR KIDS WALK TO THE SCHOOL BUS STOP ALONE? In this dramatic re-construction, we show you why to always accompany your kids.

depends what media really for silly news/fear mongering foxnews is a good example its like the daily mail in TV format

It's hardly anything new. Lyndon Johnsons 1964 campaign ad basically did the same thing. The Americans frequently use attack ads or scare tatics to stir up emotions and gain votes. Of course if you are intelligent enough and can form your own opinions they don't work but these ads aren't aimed at free thinkers.
