how often do you change your toilet?

do i need to replace mine?

My Dad built this place in 1972 and it still has the same toilet.
Had a couple of seats and flush mechanisms since though.

Why the hell would you change a perfectly good, toilet, washing machine, cooker etc ANYWAY!
(other than doing a complete refit)
What a waste of money and resources!

I must get a picture of my dad's toilet when I'm next home. It is quite old and is pink with a brown marble effect. The toilet seat actually looks like a normal pink seat but with crap smeared all over it. We always have to warn visitors that it isn't crap.

God knows who designed the thing.

We've had our toilet for 24 years and its still holding me up.
It was in the house when we bought it so its a lot older.

Just think, the amount of crap that has been through your toilet could be measured in tonnes. Huh huh.

Replaced one recently which we had put in about 9 years ago. I live in a hard water area and the limescale had really built up in the toilet leaving some horrible staining. Decided it was time to get a new one, which also looks a lot more modern and economical.

Never changed mine as we've only lived here 18 months.

I don't think my dad has changed either toilet since moving in 25 years ago. He does have 2 seperate toilets (i.e. not in the bathroom) though. Bit of a side issue but I've always found it a bit strange that people have toilets in the bathroom (especially if it's the only one) - what happens if you are desperate for the loo but someone is in there having a bath?

Change the skidlid and seat top quite often but surely one white toilet is much the same as any other?

I recently upgraded my bathroom.

Overclocked my shower - now runs at 33% higher pressure at 45*c and put in a second toilet - now have 2 side by side in SLI (Single Loo Interface) format.
