How often do you socialise?

Zoom has screen sharing, so we can play online fruit machines, poker, run a commentary over films and general banter. Plus the beer we drink isn't Carling, Carlsberg or Fosters. We start with Brewdog, try local beers, craft beers and compare notes, plus the beers that he makes himelf from scratch (not kit beer).

Lunch once or twice a week. Family at least once a week. I've a long-standing group of friends who I've known for over 30 years and despite having moved around the country - myself most of all - we keep in touch by email and meet up once or twice a year.

Aged 42 here.

I go to the pub twice a week with 1 or 2 friends. Have the same friends come round my place once a month.

During lockdowns, I had Zoom mights every other Friday with my long distance friend who I normally meet up with twice a year for 3-4 days. Now that we're out of lockdown, we have been continuing this and I count it as being "social" because our Zoom sessions are usually 6+ hours long and it involves a lot of beer!

The main thing I'm missing from pre-covid is the clubbing, so I aim to get that back into gear. Tracecoda in Birmingham was my last decent haunt.

Clubbing at 42?

I don't really have any friends anymore. Sounds terrible written down but a young child, full time job, a house that needs a ton of work sort of take up all your time - I barely keep on top of staying in touch with family.

I miss the younger days of underage drinking up the Queens Park at the weekend, then ending up at on of my mates houses where the mother would try to sober us up lol
We we're a bunch that wouldn't cause any problems or damage to anything, In the summer months we would bring a football with us.
The police would catch us from time to time, but we were respectful and they just let us get on with our night.
One of my mates parents ran one of the local pubs, so when we turned 18 we would go there once we'd had out fun in the park...Oh it sucks growing up.

@Ahleckz may know said pub, The Hampden bar ;)

What do you class as socialise I guess?

If you count online (with pei know in real life) 2-3 times a week.

If you mean in person
1 time a week or 1 time per fortnight.

This is usually biking or kayaking.

I do not go to pubs or clubs. Find that boring.

Usually most days even if it just for a brew and a chat but I'm not working due to illness so I have lost my work social life. I go to Manchester to see other friends at weekends. Gets expensive.

probably more techno (minimal techno etc) rather than 'make some noise....ooop ooop...haaands in the aaaiiiir' :p but yeah clubbing is still fine after 40...

Pretty much that really, techno.. and trance, d'n'b. I did mention Trancecoda, but Jsmoke didn't cotton onto that. I wasn't referring to the local Stafford club that plays generic cheese :D

I went out on Saturday night so that's me done for a good few months.

I prefer to work/hobby/spend time with the family rather than friends.

Two young kids and re prioritising means there isn't any money left for socialising

Exactly the same with me. I could have written this post.

With friends just weekly online gaming and then and a full on out out session probably 3 or 4 times a year. Not nearly enough really but we all have young families. Next one is planned for Sept and can't wait.
