How often does speaker prices/technology change?

Reason I'm asking is because I'm thinking of getting a sub £100 2.1 set for my PC now, then use that at uni 7 months down the line.

But I don't need to get it right now because I have a crappy Dell soundbar for the odd youtube video etc and a Yamaha 5.1 Home Cinema kit for music (which I wont be taking -im assuming there wont be enough room)

So I need to know if I invest in a 2.1 kit now, there won't be a drastically better product on the market 7 months away. (also in part I need to justify buying this with my PC )

I don't think that speaker hardware moves as quick as PC components. But then if you're constantly worrying about whether something is going to be as good in the future compared to now you'll never buy something. Just get something when it suits you best and enjoy it! woop woop etc

Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 look impressive

You can't go wrong with the Acoustic Energy Aego M's.

I had mine for about 5 months now and cannot fault them. Build quality is excellent and the sound quality is amazing.
