How Often does your car get Serviced?

Every 5950 miles which covers an oil change and air/oil/fuel filters :) Sometimes don't need to replace the air filter depending on how dirty it becomes :p

Every 10K miles or one year. 10K is probably my rough annual milage anyway.

Mine counts down from 10000 miles on the dash screen. When it gets down to 1500 miles to go it flashes every time you start the car - rather annoying.

In terms of time, this is every few months.

How many miles do you do a year Jez?

Ive only had the car since the end of september, but going on the last few years about 50,000 generally.

Its really not bad at all, only about 10-12k are private.

All the rest its in work time, i'd rather sit in a heated/massaging mercedes armchair with cruise control and an ipod full of music watching the scenery flash by, than in an office looking at a computer screen all day :)

Every year or 6k miles which ever comes first. If I can be bothered it gets an oil change 3k miles between serices.

You put new plugs leads and air filters in your car every 8k miles?

yes I do, for what they cost its not worth not doing.

Leads and plugs set about £45, oil about £25, filters are **** all..... about £4 for the air filter, and £8 for the oil filter.

so thats about £82 every 9/10 months.... its an old car, they like being treated nice.

Although most manufacturers say plugs last for 10k or more, on my bike I changed them every 5000klm.

Mine gets serviced when it asks to be serviced. First oil change was 21K and next service will be either August or in about another 20K

Just had mine done for £110.

They changed the brake fluid humidity in the last service about 5000 miles back for £45 :( Anyways, they just said that it was .2% more than it should be, I told them to stick it! It can't need changing again, they are just trying to pull a fast one me thinks.

Apparently my Brakes are at 40-30% too... i guess that will be pricey?

VW are rip off merchants, my old man found that out after paying through the nose for 3 years...

"new clutch sir, circa £500......"

Independant approved garage, "new clutch sir, circa £260"

I change the oil every 6 months, check the air filter, leads, plugs and replace if needed.

Gets a service in my local independant yearly.

Does it really make a difference? I was thinking about doing mine, but wasn't sure if it'd do much.

Was it a hard job?

Mine is due an oil change, but I'm skint, and I'd rather have a new bumper.

The garage where I bought the car. But my friend works for the dealership, so anything like cam belt, clutch etc I put through him so that it shows as main dealership on the work carried out and only pay for the parts and few pints.

So get it even cheaper!

:D
