How often should you replace anti freeze?

Am I correct in saying anti freeze is good for 2 years, after which you should replace it regardless of weather it is at the correct level?

I admit it's a bit of a noob question. Google is giving me various answers.

Depends which sort of antifreeze is in the system tbh, some is good for 5 years.

Depends on the car. Read the owners manual.

Some are 2 years, some 4, some 5, some 10, some never.

When my car goes in for its service I get the garage to test the coolant strength and see if it needs doing any sooner.

i have never changed anti freeze or brake fluid in any car i own (only topped up).

If i owned a modern, half decent car, i would change the liquids to keep up to date with the service manual.

but from what i have read on the internet, its usually every 2 years.

And this is the problem, "from what I read on the Internet".. check your manual

My wife's old 10-year old Civic had long-life coolant that lasts 12 years and thus was pointless changing it.
