How old is Jack Daniels whiskey?

Despite being the location of a major operational distillery, Jack Daniel's home county of Moore is a dry county, so the product is not available for consumption at stores or restaurants within the county.

I thought every employee got a free bottle with their payslip:confused: At least that's what it says on the adverts on the underground:p

Edit and yes it does taste like cack Woodford reserve is the only Bourbon

I don't mind JD, I am not saying you would compare it with a nice Single Malt Scotch. However as a drink in it's own right I think it has a good flavour, you can certainly taste the oak and is quite rough.

The people who work to manufacture it are enthusiastic towards the process and there certainly seems to be as much care going into it as you find at smaller distilleries. Even things like they make all the casks on site, each one is only used once however most go on to live a second life to flavour various other wines/spirits. I think they even make the charcoal they filter it with on site.

I thought it was only considered a Bourbon in as much as it meets the criteria for one, it's actually a sour mash? I think a lot of it has to do with trading regulations in the USA

I have to say i prefer Gentleman Jack to any Scotch Malt Single, i dont know why but for me it just tastes great :D

Bin it and buy some proper single malt scotch!
I know this is all down to individual taste but I was at my brother in laws at the weekend and he gave me an good (expensive) single malt and it tasted like surgical spirit, it was truly awful!
Gave it back to him and asked for a JD on the rocks :D

Yeah there's a wide variety of tastes! I loved the first whiskey I ordered (Green Spot) but my second attempt (Laphroaig) tasted like ass (imo) and I couldn't even finish the first glass lol.
