How old is your case?

I got my current case in January 2009 and then transferred my stuff over and did a mini rebuild. Link to my Build Log in my signature. ;)

I recently went back to my 6 year old Blue Xaser 3 as my GTX260 would not fit in my 4 year old Antec Super Lanparty. Going round to friends houses with my PC is now much more if a chore, but the PC is officially bomb proof again. Still waiting for a performance HTPC case I like to appear for around £100, then it will finally be upgraded. Oh and like many people here, I still have a Chieftec Dragon (luminous green and ancient) in circulation, currently housing my FreeNAS server.

I've had my Cheiftec Dragon for about 6 years now and have no need to change it apart from it being a heavy mofo its just fine :)

Struggle a little with the length of 'modern day' video cards a little but they fit just about :D

My current case (Sonata 550) is about a year old, I would have kept using my old case (Sonata original), except I needed a new PSU anyway and buying a new case let me leave my old PC intact when I built this one up.

At the moment in use i've got
Antec Sonata 550 - current machine
Antec Sonata original - 4 years old, my old machine (now my mum's).
2x Globalwin 802's - both about 9 years old and still well worth hanging onto, one houses my dad's PC, the other a test machine.
Cheiftec full tower - about 8 years old, houses my main test rig.

I would probably still be using the 802's today if they had better cooling, as they are still pretty much the best cases i've ever had to work on/in, and that includes the original model Coolermaster ATCS 201 (I think it was), which was great but felt fairly flimsy compared to the 802's or the Sonata's.

It's odd, out of all the parts I've bought the cases seem to be the only ones that have actually stayed in (near) constant use over the years.

I've had my case for about 4 weeks now... :) It's a Thermaltake Armour LCS, although when I finally get enough money for my i7 I'm going to replace the entire watercooling... :D

Got an Antec Plusview 1000 AMG - love the case to bits, its not the most modern, but I think it looks brilliant, plus it's built like a tank. Think it's close to 6 years old now and I intend to put at least another couple of builds in there.

Over 5 years old, a "Heavy Metal" eMachines case.

Heavy Metal in that it's mostly aluminium and its needlessly hefty.

had my voodoo rage lian li for about a year. i'll be keeping her for a very long time. airflow isnt the best on this model but the styling is perfect. and as voodoo is no more i like the collectors item factor ;)

..still it will never get me laid :(

Had my Thermaltake Tai Chi for years now. I might strip everything out and live in it. Its a huge case.

my current Lian Li i have had for around 4 - 5years, it cost me £130 from ******s, and i got to say it is the best peice of computer kit i have ever bought.

its been drilled, hacked, modded, seen a few mobo changes and configs, and its still there, but alas it is time to retire it, got a new Lian-Li PC-7FW, coming tommorow (thought it was today, thanks Ace for sorting that out for me )

once it gets here it will have a few mods done to it, should look cool,

black and blue theme, throughout. should take 2 weeks to finish, ill post some pics when done

My Xblade case is doing just fine. Had it 5 years now with 1000's of hours use and for the £15 i paid for a brand new case *with* power supply, it's been smashing. I would like a new classier, quieter case that filters the dust out, but untill the power supple blows on this, i'll hold out.

I've had my Antec P182SE for just over 2 years.
I kept my Lian Li it replaced as a spare.

My mum still has my first Case from 1998 a mid-tower Irwin. :)

had my cm201 for about 5 years but it was used when i bought it, from mm.
my beige warrior full tower case is ancient, came with a P90 in it(in 1999) so it must be 15? years + old, paid a fiver :D.. got a 1998 vintage packard bell micro-atx case downstairs.. also got an ancient P2 vintage desktop case which i dont use and a 4 year old Super-Flower SF702 £15 "gaming" case which is twisted and warped but still works, shouldn't have stood on it lol

just figuring out how to get a modern pc cool and silent in the cm201 at the moment, the full tower has enough space for anything, and the micro-atx has cooling enough for a standard core2duo, etc.. i see no reason to change old, strong well made cases for the flimsy crap i see on sale today.
