Samsung S21, at 3 years old now. Surprised it was that old to be honest. Got into the habit of buying the handset outright and trying to ride it into the sunset for as long as possible. Usually until the battery starts to give in or performance becomes an issue but currently no plans to upgrade or change. I would say the temptation to upgrade year on year isn't really there in terms of offerings or performances, which saves a good bit of money.

Have to say I find it hard to justify the cost of flag ship phones. When I broke my pixel 4a5G I switched to her old phone, Xiaomi 10T Pro. Must be 4yrs old now.

I've really only two issues with it, constant disconnects from android auto and the audio call quality on my wireless earbuds suddenly is bad. I assume it's a settings thing but can't fix it. Both are annoying enough to look at mid range replacement.

Now have a pixel 8 pro, bought just before the 9 series came out. Definitely my plan these days is to keep a phone a few years, then replace it with a heavily discounted one with a new model looming :D

Being an early adopter for a brand new flagship is pretty much a fools game these days in my opinion.

Xiaomi Mi 11 3 years old, Chinese version which I flashed to EU rom making it cheaper, replaced the battery last year but new software update seems to have reduced the battery other than that runs great

But now looking to upgrade got my eyes on the OnePlus 13 I'll be doing the same buy the Chinese version cheaper and flash global rom should be very nice jump especially battery life

I go with SIM only deals so buy the phone outright

My old oppo find X2 pro is still the best phone I've ever had , that version of gorilla glass is amazing it's still immaculate, my Huawei was wrecked in the same time span , also the amoled screen just looks better than any others I see, android is 13 at the moment

I got a pixel 9 XL Pro to replace my old Pixel 6 last week. This will do me till I break it (have previous history with killing the charging ports). Think I had the pixel 6 for about 3 years.

Still running my Pixel 6 Pro, nearly 3 years old and working great (touch wood). Still nice and fast, works well and now costs me nothing other than a £5/month SIM card.

Hopefully keep it for another 12 months and see what's about then, but unless something utterly amazing comes along that takes my breath away (I was using a Pixel 9 Pro XL the other day and wasn't taken in by it) I'll probably just keep on with the 6P until it dies. As with most things these days, the generational leaps aren't as impressive as they used to be and so I'm in no hurry to sign up for a 2 year contract paying £50 a month (or dropping £1200) to get the latest flagship phone... even though new shiny things are always nice!

Over 4 years now, updated my vote. Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro. A phone that was ahead of its time and well spec'd from the outset I feel. Even the battery is still doing ok. I had to do one repair where I had to put a shim in on the back of the charging port ribbon cable as it stopped charging. Otherwise even the mechanical pop up camera still works fine.

Only upgraded to a p20 Pro over 6 years ago because Windows Mobile lost support with my banking apps and Whatsapp, otherwise I'd probably still be using that Nokia. Recent Android updates have made the phone laggy and I'd like to upgrade but there's nothing out there that feels better than what I already have for the price. I sourced a Pixel 8 for a family member who's having the same issues with their old Android handset at a bargain price so I'll see what that's like when setting it up, should have got myself one.

13 pro max here from when they first came out .

Camera is still good although my Go Pro 13 is a lot better . I'll wait until there is significant software I can't run until I upgrade. Apple AI is not one of them .

iPhone 16 Pro Max 1 day old just replaced my 1 year 11 month old S23U. S23U fantastic phone but charging port must be damaged as it keeps saying moisture detected. Removed all the fluff and it’s not been near water and still won’t charge wired.
My S9 did it also. iPad using the same Samsung charger and bought in 2019 still soldiering on.

I had a P20 Pro for 4 years before upgrading to the Pixel. I say upgrade... it took at least 6 months for me to stop cursing the Pixel's buggy software and wishing I was still using the P20. The P20 was an absolutely cracking phone, so much so that I didn't sell it on and still have it today as a backup phone. I don't use it much though now, I thought they stopped updating it years ago?

They did stop updating it years ago, but for 4 years I'd been using it without it doing a single android update and I'd only noticed when some apps stopped working.

I've missed out on getting a bargain pixel now. Might replace the battery again if it gets worse, had to replace the original as it swelled up enough to pop the back of the phone off.
