Start off slowly around the edges, try not to get too much in your mouth all at once. As you feel it starting to change shape move in for the kill and make sure you lap it all up!

I often have the same dilemma, I try and use a small fork but all that does is push down on the outer "shell" and pushes the cream outwards.

It becomes very messy, cream gets everwhere

Personally I squish them down a little with the first bite, lick the cream from around the edges (sucking out any excess as I go), and then eat it like a biscuit. Om-nom-licious.
