Thinking of a mech keyboard, but a bit put off by the noise. With some O rings, how quiet are they compared to your typical dome or scissor keyboard?
Secondly, are any pre fitted with them to save me the chore?
it'll depend on which switch you're going for.
and o rings won't make that much a difference but it'll really change the feel of them.
your best bet would be to try/ borrow one
I tried using o-rings on red switches. Didn't like it. Keys feel more responsive and tactile without. Noise is worth living with imo. It essentially makes it feel more like a membrane keyboard, which defeats the purpose somewhat...
Same here on my ozone strike pro. Still an audible clack in use but less noticeable now with the o rings installed. Pain to fit , (quite literally) as ozone dont include a keycap puller with the board.my reds are softer and don't bottom out anymore![]()
