I mean come on!

The fact that the owner has a V8 super car is just not good enough for this dude. I could get along with and actually like the V10 styling over the normal V8. It looks better and wider. :o

But to slap a engine cover over the old one only to show that it's a V10 when infact it's still a V8 and the amount spent on all these styling parts, he probably could have saved up for the V10.

V8 or V10 i would hardly call the owner of either sad.

Spending £30K to try to make a V8 R8 look and sound like a V10 R8 is arguably sad, though. That's a fair bit more than the price difference between the two - why not sell the V8 and buy a real V10 instead?

I don't know much about pricing on these cars, but does the V10 version cost over 30k more than the V8 one? If not, the owner isn't sad, he's an idiot.

I agree with this. Its a bit like when people make their ordinary car look more like the M version, or the ST, Type R , etc...

It may look like one, but soon as they get driving, its just not.

Pretty sure the 30k has been plucked out of thin air by the seller and the owner didnt actually spend that much converting it. Surely no one can be that stupid...

I don't see the point but he may prefer the sound and power delivery of the V8 but prefer the styling of the V10.
Personally, I think that anyone who tries to make a car look like something it isn't is an idiot. Audi R8 or BMW 114i, same deal.

see I dont think anybody just sticking a name on the back of a car is that sad

but sticking a v10 badge onto the engine that is a V8 is taking it a bit far

'Prefer the styling' would be much more believable if he had merely altered the styling, without going as far as putting an engine cover in that says 'V10 FSI'.

That's where he enters the realm of undeniably trying to pass off a V8 as a V10, rather than just appreciating the styling differences IMO.
