How sharp are you when it comes to purchases?

Hey all.
I am pretty sharp when it comes to retailers trying to pull a sneaky one to make extra profit.

The common ones are the well known well priced TV with an attempt at selling you the £80 HDMI cable for a better picture.

Today I came across this, as an item I am genuinely interested in:

The corner sofa is modular.
It costs £560 to buy two half recliners, yet £745 to buy a 3 seater recliner.
Checking the dimensions, they are the same.

How sharp are you lot with keeping an eye out for a rip off?

I waited six months for a corner sofa from Harvey's, many years ago, would definitely not use them ever again, the excuses they used were oh sorry our suppliers keep going bust lol.

My mum used to work in customer service. She left because they wanted her to lie to customers about delivery and just fob them off.

I'd literally only buy from there if they physically had it in stock there and then and I could take it.
 
I like to think I'm sharp, use google, shop around, understand that people can grossly rip you off for their own greed and unfairness. It's not so difficult with the internet(been here for many years). Shop around.
 
I work in retail, and have done for almost 10 years now so I like to think I'm pretty savvy.

I don't tend to look at discounts or was/now prices, just whatever I'm paying at the end of the day, and if I'm happy with it then I'll buy it.

Being able to spot the difference between "sale" items which are just promotional things and "clearance" items, which is where the real bargains are helps.

Yes, according to the website there are just days left.

However, one could also take this as just days left until the next one.
 
I've been looking at a Dyson V6 which had been £249 (RRP £300) at literally every retailer for the last 9 months.

So along come the Black Friday sales (I'll use Currys as an example) and it's now £259, apparently "£110 off the RRP".:confused:
