.. is your fuse?

I've been told that I've calmed down quite a bit over the years. I used to lose my temper at the simplest of things. I don't tend to let things get to me nowadays. For example, the wife backed into someone the other day and when she told me, I just said "As long as you are ok". I then left her to deal with the paper work etc. A few years ago I would have flipped and then taken control. I fact one day, she was so frightened to tell me, she went to her mums for the day/evening. The first I heard was when the guy called for the insurance details :) I've never been violent, just had a bad temper.

I still have my limits though. I loose it at work with some people when the don't listen or don't do something they have been asked to do.

So I guess my fuse is a lot longer than it used to be.

It used to be ultra short, used to just have to insult me in the slightest and I'd blow up.

but recently in life (last year or so) I've met people that have been quite shocked when i go off on one and really made me look at myself when I get angry and I think wtf was I doing, some of the tantrums I've thrown in the past are cringeworthy, I think before I get mad these days.

So ye, my fuse is also longer than it used to be

Yesterday I broke 2 plates by accident in a fit of anger, as my dad was winding me up again. I just snapped. One minute I was cooking tea, the next I was shouting so loud for him to get out of my way that my throat is still sore now.

I've got a lot on my mind that also contributed to this, my dad just topped it all off.

*I am actually a nice person*

I sed to be really bad, my nincname of Rotty came form the fact that folks at work said I had the temperament of a Rottweiler

nowadays though I rarely lose my temper with anyone, I hadn't done for absolutley ages ( years ) until last Saturday whrn I saw workmen using a pnewmatic drill 18inches from my car

when I asked why they hadn't asked me to move the car the bloke said " as it was only 8am and your curtains were shut we didn't want to wake you up"

"you were using a pneumatic drill outside my bedroom window you **** why would I be asleep"

even then I caled down after a couple of mins

I get angry quite easily when I'm tired or have had a bad day, I become very irritable. But I don't often take that anger out on people.

Short fuse, but fairly good control (I hope).

It varies. Having a fair bit of Mediterranean blood in me I can blow up over the silliest thing, or be stoic and just let things slide. It really does vary. In general I'm pretty laid back though.

The older I get, the worse I am getting ....... Victor Meldrew AAgghhaaa!

I'm not really big enough to be having "discussions" with people who are much younger, fitter and bigger either but it doesn't seem to stop me If I feel that I'm in the right.

Generally, I'm really quite laid back and my fuse is very long. But there are some people who seem to have the ability to shorten it to a candle wick. It's very rare that I lose it, but when I flip, run for the hills.

Burnsy

Long fuse - very easy going and non confrontational....right up untill someone angers me just enough at which point something snaps, the vein throbs and all hell breaks lose.

Had it happen at a festival once and just the look on my face made people clear out of my way :D

I've never actually lost it with anyone to be honest. In fact I dont know what would happen if I did, I'm quite a patient person but I tend to go quiet rather than loud when I'm annoyed.

I had to force myself to chill when I was about 17/18 or I would have ended up in jail or worse.

Nowadays it is virtually impossible to irk me...But I have 'lost it' two or three times in the last five years.

I'm not proud of it but one occasion left a guy with a broken jaw and cheekbone after he grabbed my gf and tried to grope her.

:/

My wife did the same thing. I was really concerned for her well being as she was shook up and worried. I took care of all the paperwork for her strange you would get upset over a piece of metal or an accident like that.

I never blow my fuse just sit quietly plotting my revenge.

"Revenge is a dish best served cold."

It varies.

I usually have two levels:

Normal > Crazy > Pyscho

The first jump is quite quick and I'll flip out over most things but I'll calm down in a few minutes. The second one has only happened once or twice and takes a lot.
