How should i prepare hard drives for sale on the MM?

I'll be selling a couple of HDDs on the MM soon, but i would like to know how to make them so that no one could recover my bank details, e-mail passwords etc. I would be grateful, therefore, if people could recommend some free tools to completely erase the contents of a drive and to make data recovery impossible.

What you need is software that can completely wipe the hard disk instead of just formatting. Basically it works by filling the hard disk with zeros (0). Process can take hours depending on size & how many times you want to do-it
