How should I set up my home network?

OK - random spontaneous purchase!

I would have suggested that the commonality here was the wifi connection which would have been better improved by a dedicated AP placed in a good location for the Auralics rather than replacing the HH for a different router.

How far from the HH are the Auralics and how many walls between them and the HH? I assume nighthawk will be physically located where the HH is now?

Start the problem solving using the basics,
switch everything off apart from HH NAS Auralics and switches unless needed for connectivity. Do you still get buffering?

I ordered the Night Hawk via Amazon Next Day, so it arrived yesterday and I reconfigured my network taking into account the advice given.

The PC, NAS and printer are all hard wired to the NH.

All mobile devices are on the 2.4GHz network with the exception of my Auralic Aries and the iPad Mini I use to control them which have the 5GHz network to themselves.

So far, so whoooosh! Very happy, thanks guys.

Problem is all sorted apparently so just making an observation...
Best practice is to use a single router and use switches when you want to get more ports.
Just looked at the Netgear and it is a 8 port GB switch, not a router, my mistake sorry.
First time I've seen someone be sniffy about the distinction between 'router' (which almost every layperson uses to describe any networking box) and 'switch', and the other person acknowledge the distinction and correct themselves. You'll go far George Hincapie. :D

Played mate, I'm glad it worked out for you.

Since swapping routers, the Synology Download Station on my NAS isn't downloading anything. I have had a look at the router using NetGear Genie app but can't see anything obvious. Is some specific configuration needed?
