How the fudge to i connect this sub to my amp (Onkyo605)?

you said 120hz IF using audyssey. my point was, using or not using audyssey makes no difference to this decision. You either set it to 120 if you believe you should be hearing everything, or you set it to match the crossover frequency of the main speaker, irrespective of using audyssey or not.

anyway, it was this i was referring to:

audyssey = Lpe-Lfe 120Hz, Not audyssey Default 80Hz (and Spl the setup) Does this work?

Implementation of Audyssey Onkyo used 80Hz rule in ##5 series amps and Denon used the 40Hz Rule on Same Gen Amps. This is the Fullband issue, not Sub :)

your confusing separate issues there.

Onkyo use 40hz, as denon do. and by that it means if audyssey recommends the crossover should be below 40hz, the crossovers for the speakers default to full range. above 40hz, and the crossovers are set to whatever audyssey recommends. Remember, audyssey does not have anything to do with setting the crossovers directly, that is the amps job.

audyssey doesnt, to my knowledge, recommend anything for LPF of LFE. or if it does the onkyos ignore them. I dont recall LPF of LFE being anything other than 120hz as default on my amp (i own an 805) either the first start up, or after audyssey being run. I'm not 100%, its been a while since ive had to run it.

Either way, this comes back to what i said previously - you either set it to 120hz if you believe everything should be heard or you set it to match the crossover for the main speakers. Using audyssey, or not, should have no influence on this decision. Your idea of 80hz probably comes from the fact that 80hz is specified by the THX standard, and it is also recommended by audyssey (if only as a starting point)

Audyssey on ##5 series is Setup as 80hz rule this is why the speakers come out as FullBand , if is was 40Hz rule as were the Denons you would not set Fullband more like 80Hz. . After Audyssey setup.

Audyssey Does Recommend Setting the LPE-LFE to 120Hz..

In fact i got this info Direct from Chris Kyriakakis i.e Audyssey Him self , you can use the Audyssey live Help link Above , to ask all Questions About setup/and Implemented on Audyssey Chip to ##5 series amps , i think this issue was Resolved on ##6 series amps.

Thx 80hz is the standard for Thx speakers does not mean you can not run Speakers at 80hz ..

This is the wrong thread for this discussion, but to clarify, when i said i dont think audyssey recommends anything with regards to LPF of LFE, i was talking about the software talking to the amplifier, not what Chris Kyriakakis says.

did you get this sorted? What you could have done is used a rca cable from your sub using both L and R into a single male RCA and plug that into your SUB on the amp.
