How the hell does music like this make it out of a recording studio?

Let alone on to the radio, the telly, and sometimes in to the charts

Look at Hotline Bling, this is quite possibly one of the worst songs I've ever heard, I've never heard anyone ask for it or say that they like it. The music video can't have cost more than a tenner to make, it's literally shot in one room with two people. It's an abomination. Yet it's on tv and the radio, so what gives? Are there actually people who enjoy this? Is this a sign of where humanity is heading? Or is it simply the radios forcing stuff down our throats?

I just don't get it. If I heard a couple of people say it's a good song then I could understand it but nobody I know likes it, maybe I'm not hip any more.

Dunno

Legit question btw, not trying to be a dumbass.

Got nothing on Shut Up. That steaming **** from Stormzy which masquerades as a song.

Wow! Swear filters getting proper Mary Whitehouse on us now. Since when has the 4 letter for faeces that rhymes with bird been a swear word?

Ha ha, yet the word that rhymes with manhole where the faeces originate from isn't picked up by the swear filter and I get told off for it.

people buy that crap because they think they are cool pretending to like what everyone else dislikes.

with different words it might be a good song, the background music is quite nice.

Hotling bling is hilarious, makes me laugh whenever i hear it. It's got some great low bass though. I just think it's one of those songs that was never supposed to be taken that seriously. Well, i hope so anyway given the way Drake gets his boogie on lol

I'm pretty sick of most current 'pop' music really, woman in my office has the radio on all day and every song that comes on is pure crap. Granted, that's probably at least partly down to the radio station but so much if it is boring, derivative rubbish designed solely to stick in your head rather than actually sound good or mean anything.

Jess Glynne can sod off too.

Much like nursey rhymes, catchy songs with simple riffs/hooks stay in your head and prove popular.

Technically brilliant music can have an orchestra....

Hotline bling is the pop equivalent of incy wincy spider
