I don't watch much telly but I switched it on today and it was still on the Discovery Channel where Mrs. Feek had left it.

There was a programme on about how the Titanic was built.

It was riveting.

I remember in 97 when it came out, myself, my sister and dad went to watch it.

My dad's a marine engineer, served in the navy. Complained about the shoddy build quality and the use of modern materials for the ship parts shown in some scenes. Suffice to say he didn't like it.

Your dad sounds like a barrel of laughs mate :P

Might not make you laugh but he can build you a boat from spare parts, rebuild an engine and fix anything that ain't a computer. Wonder how many comedians can do that. Most probably struggle to change a light bulb.

I bet mate! No doubt he could probably do it with his eyes closed. Sounds like the kind of chap we need more of. My brothers a bit like that and I’ve always been completely envious of him. By the time I’ve stopped coming out with reasons to not attempt something he’s already taught himself and finished the job.

The coal fire theory has sparked my interest in the Titanic sinking again, I have a burning desire to learn more and it looks like it is hot topic these days.

He's currently rebuilding his 1984 Chevvy Airstream 310 motorhome with its 7.4L V8 having bought it back from the states after touring the country east to west for several years.
