I'm Old! - Or at least, I feel it!

I'm 25 Today!

There was a time not so long ago, I'd leap out of bed in excitement of the prospect of opening the dozens of cards and presents from all family and friends which would hold toys, gadgets, clothes and hopefully a bit of money to spend of whatever unsensible item had taken my fancy that month.

But somewhere along the line, things change. It seems the postman must be skipping my house as the amount of cards has severely depleted from years gone by, and in an act, that If I believed in the fella, I'd swear was the big man himself laughing at the disappearance of my youth, as this morning, in my search for toys, gadgets, clothes and maybe a bit of money, I received a big, leafy green plant.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'd been saying that I wanted a plant for my new desk at work, so I'm happy about it. But if there's ever a 'your a grown up now' present, I think that's it :p

But anyway, I have the day off and mostly to myself, so time to catch-up on some Arrow & Flash, and maybe test the surround out with a second run at Interstellar before going to watch the new Fast & Furious this evening with my gorgeous girlfriend :)

It gets worse. When you truly get old you don't even bother taking the day off work.

I hit 30 in January, it was a strange feeling. I woke yo to the usual balloon's in the living room. When I seen the number 30 on them it soon wiped the smile off my face.

Had a sudden feeling of "lifes too short" and "what have I achieved" .

Its instantly changed my outlook on a lot of things, seeing the age 30 balloons.
 
Happy birthday buddy. late 20s are bit funny as being a kid was not so long ago. I regressed through my 30s and as a 40 year old I am now a kid again. Have a great day
 
A plant? Keep dreaming. I get socks for my birthday! I hit 29 yesterday so I'm only one away from the big 30. You will start to feel it in a couple years mate, so enjoy being young.
 
Happy birthday fella. And I'm 23 and I know what ya mean past few years iv been like ugh not my birthday I don't want it to be because I'm getting older and getting no where. It's crap!

Well that's better than I got - I received a card from my family... yay!

Gone are the days I got cards and you could fee the paperclip through the envelope and you knew there was some cash in there. Oh well, have to keep buying myself presents! :D

I remember I was quite down on my 25th. Quarter of a century and all that. Still, make the most of it, you're not over the hill.
