As above i have an old fujitsu 2 1/2" hard drive from an old creative zen player, i need to access the drive but am not sure what my options are.
the drive itself has 2 rows of pins on the rear (ide) how do i access it, without an old ide mobo or anything.

i am limited to laptop and usb, what option do i have if any?

thanks

You can get a USB enclosure 2.5" ide.

You may need to use 2 usb ports to supply enough power, so you'd need to have 2 ports near each other. They come with the 2 port cables.

Note these can be a bit finicky, you need to slot them in well. I wouldn't recommend using the caddy for important files.

Possibly something like the Bipra USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE Adapter Kit with Power Adapter for 2.5/3.5/5.25 inch SATA or IDE Drive might work. No link as it is from a competitor.

I used an adaptor I got from ebay years ago. I cant remember what it was called but it just connected to the back of an ide drive and had a small board where you'd attach a sata cable and floppy disc power cable in order to power it. I think a usb caddy would be the easiest option but that adaptor I mentioned works flawlessly and is still in use in my parents pc today :)

if you can wait a couple of weeks, I have an old laptop ide reader at my parents house that you can have for free.
