I've downloaded FAH504-Console and trying to set it up following this guide.
But how do I open the command line config window If I click on it, it just runs the program as I want to set it up for 2 core's.

Thank's

►Setting up Folding@Home:
-CPU Client:
Put the downloaded client into a folding@home folder, and then click on it to open the command line config window. Now do the following:
* User name: enter a username, pick one that no other OcUK folder has chosen
* Team number: 10
* Launch automatically at machine startup, installing this as a service: yes
* Ask before fetching/sending: no
* Use Internet Explorer settings: yes/no. yes if you have a proxy, else no
* Use Proxy: yes/no as above
* Allow receipt of work assignments and return of work results greater than 5MB in size (such work units may have large memory demands): If you use the machine for things other than F@H and have less than 256MB RAM no, else yes because these units get far better points
* Change advanced options: no

Folding on a dual core cpu:
To fold on a dual core you must use two clients in two folders, one for each core. Setup is the same for each one except for the 2nd one you must do the following:
Type yes to 'change advanced options'. Then press enter for each option to leave them at default except the machine id option. Set this to 2 for the 2nd core.

I am not too sure what the actual problem is. If you have a dual core machine download the client and put a copy of it in two separate folders, say Folding 1 and Folding 2.

Now when you run the exe in Folding 1 you will get the config, answer all the questions as per the sticky. Now when done run the exe in Folding 2 and do the same, making sure to go into the advanced options and set Machine ID to 2.

As SiriusB said. If you ever need to access the configuration once it's set up, make a shortcut to the .exe, go to the properties and add "-configonly" (without the "" obviously) to the end of the target line. When you click the shortcut (making sure the client isn't running at the time), it'll take you to the config options, closing the client immediately after you've finished.

Everything (including the above) is in the guide.

Ive put them in two different folder's but I cant find advanced options if I double click on it, it just runs the program and if I left click and go into properties it give's me nothing about any options?

OK. Delete everything that the client may have created in the folder, down to the original files. Run the exe and it will display the configuration options for the client. You have to manually type "yes" or "no" to each of the questions it gives you, as per the guide. To get into the advanced options, answer "yes" to: "Change advanced options?". That will bring up a second menu that will allow you to change the interesting bits.

Hope that helps.

// EDIT // LOL glad you've got it.

I'm getting an error come up now.

Folding@home core shutdown: File_IO_error

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Create shortcuts to both clients, and add -local to the target. Then, launch both clients via the shortcuts. Never start them without the -local switch otherwise they'll get confused and try and work on the same unit causing the FILE_IO_ERROR

If you've set them up as services, then you can add the -local flag by doing a regedit. The guide explains it all much better than I could. Have a careful read of all of it.
