How to backup my iPhone backup?

Just been reading through the JB threads and I think when I get back from my holidays I'll give it a go. One question it raised though that I thought would be useful to know is how to backup my iPhone backup

Let's say I wanted to do a rebuild of my PC, what do I need to make a copy of to make sure that once I reinstall windows and iTunes, my last backup is there and perfectly functional? Just as if nothing had happened.

Edit: Sorry, should have said, I'm on Win7

Where do the backups get stored? Surely you can just burn it to a CD or something and then put it back later.

Not sure on Win7. I've tried that before on XP but it didn't work very well, didn't seem to restore everything. :confused:

Just a quick question.... (tagging on to this thread)

If you backup on Mac OSX will time machine back up the backup ? I under the impression that it would.... and also, does time machine backup the idisk? I would check but i am backing up every thing now and cant get a look in....
