Been looking at these amps for a while.

What's the total cost for the tin, components, etc? Might have a go a building it instead of just getting one off eBay.

The parts list with part numbers is a big help if I decide to do it so I know I'll be getting exactly the right bits. :)
 
total cost was quite low,
£3 for the tin
5 amp chips for free by texas instruments free samples service
components abo0ut £9 + post fromt he us, however i baught components for all my other projects so in comparison the postage was cheap.

This could be a fun little project to crack into :D

Could you hook this up to a normal plug socket instead of using batteries, or differentiate between the two if you were at home/out and about, or would the voltages cause a hassle? (I'm not too clued up on electronics, even though I should be :()

yes, very easy to add a dc power jack, soon i will also be making one for my brothers car that runs from his car battery and goes between his ipod and his stereo
