im after some clarity of my room measurements.

Im laying some laminate flooring in my dining room.

the room measures 14 feet by 11 feet,i have worked this out to be 15sq metres and ill need 7 packs of flooring.

can someone just clarify this is correct please.

sorry if this is a stupid question but i want to order the flooring of line and dont want to get it wrong as i cant pop down the road to get 1 more pack.

thanks guys :)

I'd say make sure you have at least one extra pack than you need for the area.
You'll end up with loads of off-cuts that wont allow you to complete the floor otherwise, and you will probably damage one or two before you get the knack of doing it properly.

www.onlineconversion.com for all you conversion needs.

if you are a bit geeky like me you can spend hours converting random numbers to different units

If you were a bit geeky then you'd try doing it in your head rather than pushing buttons on a website.

At my previous company a senior options trader used to torment his juniors with random quickfire questions like '17mph in inches per second?' and would expect a reply back from them fairly quickly. There was some reasoning to the bizarre questions but I think he essentially was also just tormenting them too.

Yes 15sq meters is just over.
just what i thought...thanks :)
Why are you measuring it in feet but trying to work it out in sq metres?
im old school and still stuck in feet :)
The room is 154 sq feet which according to google is 14.3 sq metres so it seems you are correct
i knew i was right but in the back of mind i just needed it double checking by someone...thanks

i always order over for the future in-case the floor gets damaged.

thanks for the replys guys.

puts my mind at rest now.

put foot in small cardboard box (approx 1 foot square)
hop around room until you've stood everywhere possible
count how many hops this took

hops = square footage of room

Literally? You had a torr on your head?

50ish is not good enough I'm afraid, you claimed to be better than an online converter. :p

C+

The + is only because I'm in a good mood!

I know, it's marginally more. Just checked, didn't think it was as high as 51.7. Thought it was around 50.3xxxxx
