How to catch a predator..

I have to say, if they ever made this in the UK, Jeremy Kyle would be the perfect host. Except he would probably go all vigilante and murder them in cold blood.

That's still not proper evidence though... there's a million and one ways of faking an email, or using one of a completely different person along with their IP.

Plus... get the person at the other end to verify themselves via something that these entrapment organisations wouldn't be able to send you?

(strong no child predator btw)

Mate, I dont think you are giving the police enough credit. If they trace it back to your pc and then you end up at the same kids house they won't need much more evidence. They can trace easily enough if they have reason enough to, even if you are using a proxy.

How would you get verification from the kid that it wasn't all a setup. I can't imagine that its like shooting fish in a barrel for these guys, I should think that if they made sure 100% beyond all doubt that the person the other end was real they wouldnt have any luck. There will always be an element of risk to what they are doing.

Have a legit reason for visiting a 13 year old girl who's home alone?

"Hey babe, A/S/L"
"Oh hi, 13/F"
"You home alone tomorrow?"
"Yup"
"Cool. Have you ever thought about saving on your energy bills?"
"Not really"
"Ok cool so how about surprising your mom when she comes home to a new set of energy saving double glazed windows?!?!?!"
"Umm..."
"Tell you what, buy the downstairs, get the upstairs free?!?!?!"
"Umm..."
"See you tomorrow babe"

And then rather than being lured in by an apparently willing girl, you end up raping her. On balance I would say this is a worse plan.

My point being, I doubt there could be a legitimate reason why you're round at some random girl's house. With condoms. It would have to be very elaborate. And if you can afford to be that pre-meditated, that's a bit more scary tbh

You're visiting a house, not a girl. And obviously don't ****ing bring condoms LOL. God damn. Like I said... it attracts morons.

Here we go - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YL_R-lSewHA

What do you lot think?

Id love to know if they found anything on his computers!

I'd love to know how they came up with the figure of $105 million

Well, in this case, the person they were talking to has turned up - that's your corroboration right there.

And it's not entrapment - all these organisations do is create a non-sexual profile of a normal teenager - the sexualised chat always comes from them.

Are they in the 18+ sex chat chatroom, or habbo hotel?

He's going to be out for whatever he can get... how sad.

Do everything from someone else's computer/network. It's not hard at all to leave nothing pointing back to you if you know what you're doing.

How would I get verification? Unless they're allowed to send illegal pictures/video (with my requests added in, to prove the person at the other end made it) to me (I wouldn't be surprised since entrapment is apparently legal there) then IT'S A TARP.

That still doesn't make any sense. They have proof that these people have been talking filth in a chat room and arranged to meet for that reason. They turn up at the house and get caught.

What is this magical cover story that will make the police go "sorry mate, misunderstanding, when you said plough, you were talking about farming her yard"

You still havn't explained what this show has taught any idiots that do this sort of thing. So it says, don't be a paedophile or you may get set up and caught, thats not really ground breaking stuff.

Where does that make them a paedophile?;)

May have already been brought up but for someone to be attracted to a 15 year old girl due to being a paedophile means there is something seriously wrong with the girl as she apparently hasn't hit puberty yet... :p

Paedophile: Someone attracted to pre pubescent children, ie 12ish and below...

It was actually aired? What was the title? Are there clips anywhere?

Around 2 years ago at about 10:30pm and it was done with less showbiz than Chris Hansen.
Basically they set them up in chat rooms, I think they even spoke on the phone for some, pictures of cocks were sent as usual and when they turned up they were arrested.

It was on ITV - the guy presenting it was Mark Williams-Thomas, who's an ex-police officer, who fronts a lot of these "inside the police" shows. Was just a few episodes and sadly they don't seem to be online anywhere :(

There's a wee bit of info here on the episodes which were filmed in South Wales, they also did a couple on the Met Police Paedophile Unit.

I think it would be better if they got two blokes to meet up with each other. More hilarity would occur if there was just two middle aged pervs staring at each other in the middle of a park or something. :D

"But... you're not 9!"
