Hey all,

I am going to be making some changes to my loop soon, and want to change the colour while I am there.

I am currently running Mayhems Pastel Blue, and would like to go to Mayhems Pastel Pink or Mayhems Sunset Yellow.

What preparation do I need to do in the loop before I can swap these 2 fluids? I have read about the mayhems blitz cleaning kit, is that needed or optional?

Thanks!

you don't need the Blitz but you do need to clean it a lot. That means fully draining everything, opening blocks, cleaning out reservoirs and pumps, possibly replacing all your tubing (it stains often). Then when it's rebuilt, flush with lots of water changing the water regularly.

That said, if you're going pink, the worst you would have would be a slight purple tint. If yellow it might end up a little greeny.

Id recommend disassembling everything, giving the blocks a good clean to remove any gunk etc. Flush the rads multiple times.

Fill loop and flush again until you're happy with it. Tubing may need to be replaced but you wont know until its drained.

Thanks for the input guys, I was hoping to avoid having to take apart the blocks so early on. If I was to simply flush the system and add in the new fluid, I am assuming I could end up with discolouration at some point?

Flush it well and it's unlikely you'll get much if any noticeable discolouration. By "well" I mean multiple fill/run/drain operations with fresh (preferably) distilled water each time.
