Mmm no experience with a 106 myself.. but if they're like it's bigger brother the 306 then it's just a matter of pulling like hell towards the windscreen (when they're *ahem* erected so to speak). basically sliding them down the arm towards the window.
They're a bloody tight fit though and you will take the skin off your knuckles!
There might be a clip type thing inside the "U" of the slip that needs pressing to release it. Turn the wiper to 90 degrees to the arm, then pull it out. The arm loops round into the U at the end, so you have to pull backwards - towards the base of the wiper arm as the poster above said.
I've always found taking them off is easy, its putting them back on that makes me svcratch my head
