Someone is trying to send an email to us but it is being bounced back. I know there is a 10mb limit on inbound mails. Is there a way to check why emails are being bounced back?

I have is his name and the time the email was sent. I think it takes a few hours to register but have forgot where to look. I have access to exchange, system manager and DNS records amongst other things

Thanks

edit - i have a feeling it might be on DNS records somewhere

id be handy to know the error message on the bounceback, you can diagnose from there..

do you have the same problem emailing in from say a hotmail account?

Think i have found it. Exchange system manager > tools > message tracking center

I dont have any other info other than someone was trying to send a message this morning and his name

You wont have much luck with the Message Center. Especially if you have not turned on message tracking :p

It may not of even got into your system, the NDR might be from his server who cannot contact yours.

Track messages is on, just tested between me and a collegue and it finds messages. I have the address of the sender and it doesnt find any message. Must be server at his end or he has entered a wrong address or something

As someone previously said, if you can get a copy of the bounceback from the other guy at all, you can tell from there. Or phone him and get him to read it to you.
