How to check if its Overclocked?

Evenin guys!

Right today I got my new PC from OCuk and I opted for the 20% CPU Overclocking. I have the i7 2600k.

When checking properties it tells me this

i7-2600k CPU @ 3.40Ghz 3.30Ghz

The 20% should take it to atleast 4 Ghz, anywhere else I can check this

Fire up CPU-Z then run something like Prime, you should see the speed jump up to 4Ghz

Hey man thanks for quick reply.

Downloaded it and fired it up, it still says 3.40 Ghz in the middle of downloading some games.

Should I wait till they are done (or atleast one) and play it and run CPU-Z again?

are you running prime at the same time?
the CPU will stay at 3.4 until its stressed

Ahhh magic thanks! Got it running now although the window just dissapeared :S its not came back either

Another question, I have the Corsair Hydro H80 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler and Corsair Pro Gold AX850W Power Supply.

The 850w aint on atm, is it like a car fan? Only comes on when needed.

Ran CPU-Z with prime running it still says 3.4Ghz although core speed went from 1600Mhz to 4100Mhz

Yup thats overclocked, the 1.6Ghz is the speedstep kicking in to save power when the cpu is not doing much.

yep that PSU shuts off the fan unless it needs it, cool eh?
